WHY YOU NEED A MARKETING MAP
Marketing in small business is often one of the most overwhelming tasks. One of the easiest ways to combat the overwhelm and take control is by creating yourself a marketing map.
A marketing map visualises what you need to action to effectively market your business. Whether you’re a digital or paper+pen kinda planner - get it where you can see it!
Planning ahead with your marketing allows you to outsmart the competition and avoid falling into the trap of following the crowd. When you can see all the opportunities in front of you, it is SO much easier to make smart (and creative) decisions that let you stand out and build a loyal customer base.
It also fine-tunes your budget. Having your marketing all laid out in front of you allows you to spend smarter not harder. You don’t want to be spending money without thought, or worse… reactively to ‘catch up’ with the competition.
Things to include in your marketing map:
Relevant marketing dates for the next 12-24 months;
Priority ranking for campaigns;
A framework of the content you will create; and
A budget overview to plan out your marketing spend.
Don’t worry, not many business owners (if any) actually get to everything included on their marketing map, but this is your best shot at being consistent and effective with your time.
Marketing is what keeps your brand consistently in the spotlight, and staying present consistently is one of the hardest things to do as a small biz owner. Set yourself up with a marketing map and let me know if it helps with that overwhelm.
